Harry Brook, Adil Rashid not part of PSL 8

England's Adil Rashid and Harry Brook will not be participating in the 2023 edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) due to his commitments with the England team.

Lahore, 25 January 2023 (GNP): Adil Rashid and Harry Brook, England Cricket Players, will not participate in the 8th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) set to begin on February 13th. Multan Sultans, who had selected Rashid in the draft in December, will be selecting his replacement in the Replacement Draft on January 25th due to his commitments with the England team.

Meanwhile, Harry Brook, a key player for defending champions Lahore Qalandars, will also not be available for the team this year. Additionally, Lahore Qalandars will not have the services of Jordan Cox and Rashid Khan for the first three matches, and they will be getting partial replacements for these players in the replacement draft. Other teams, such as Islamabad United, Peshawar Zalmi, and Quetta Gladiators, will also have partial replacements for various players.

The Replacement Draft, initially scheduled for January 24th, was rescheduled due to a nationwide power outage.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has also approved the request of the franchises to increase the pool of players. As a result, franchises will now be able to select two players in the supplementary category to complete a squad of 20. The PSL 8 will kick off with the opening match between defending champions Lahore Qalandars and 2021 champions Multan Sultans at the Multan Cricket Stadium, following a grand opening ceremony.
