Khushab, 18May 2024, (GNP): Fourteen members of a family, including nine children died, and 12 suffered injuries after a passenger van fell into a ditch on Panj Pir Manawan Road in Khushab district on Saturday.
The passengers were travelling from bannu to soon valley for work.
The accident occurred after the brakes of the van failed and it fell into a ditch.The rescue team reached the site of accident and started providing medical aid.
All those who lost their lives and suffered injuries in the mishap belonged to the same family.
Out of the 14 deceased, seven were identified as 14-year-old Ishaq, 14-year-old Omar, 45-year-old Rahim, 40-year-old Muhammad Khan, seven-year-old Aleesha, eight-year-old Ghazala and five-year-old Gul Rahim whereas the other seven remained unidentified.
Rescue team provided onsite medical aid to four people with minor injuries. The other eight with critical injuries were shifted to THQ Hospital Naushera.
Declaration of grief and solidarity have streamed in from across the region, as residents come together to support those affected by this ruinous loss.

As investigations into the cause of the accident continue, authorities are prompting all road users to exercise heightened caution and adhere to traffic regulations to prevent further tragedies of this nature.
