Foreign Ambassadors on Pakistan’s 3rd consecutive win in T20 World Cup

Sharjah, 30 October 2021 (GNP/TDI): On Friday, Green Shirts won the 3rd cricket match of the T20 World Cup, in a row. Pakistan got victory over Afghanistan with five wickets.

Where it is the 3rd consecutive win of Pakistan, it is the 3rd time foreign ambassadors congratulated the Pakistani team and Nation consecutively on the win. Before this Pakistan received wishes from foreign diplomats on its victory over India and New Zealand.

The ambassadors and embassies from different countries, including the Netherlands, European Union, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Turkey, and Canada, congratulated Pakistan on winning.

Netherlands Ambassador to Pakistan Wouter Plomp appreciated the sportsmanship of the players of the two countries. He also admired the performance of Asif Ali.
European Union in Pakistan also appreciated the performance of Asif Ali in the match between Pakistan and Afghanistan. They highlighted that it is Pakistan’s 3rd win in a row. While appreciating the sportsmanship of both teams, they praised the performance of the Afghanistan team.
The European Union Ambassador to Pakistan, Androulla Kaminara, mentioned, “Excellent 3rd win, Bravo to team Green #PakvsAfg Good Playing by both teams.”
Kjell-Gunnar Eriksen Special Representative for Afghanistan and Former Ambassador of Norway to Pakistan congratulated Pakistan. At the same time, he appreciated Afghanistan.
Moreover, Wendy Gilmour, Canada’s High Commissioner to Pakistan said that the Pakistani cricket team is setting standards for the Canadian Cricket team.
Right after attending the event of the National Day of the Republic of Turkey, on 29 October in Islamabad, Mustafa Yurdakul, Turkish Ambassador in Islamabad tweeted that the news is of Pakistan’s win is valuable. He gave balanced comments by appreciating Afghanistan and congratulating Pakistan.

Before the match, Jasper Wieck, Special Representative of the German Government for Afghanistan & Pakistan, expressed his hopes for sportsmanship in the cricket match.

Stefano Pontecorvo, the NATO Senior Civilian Representative to Afghanistan and former Ambassador of Italy to Pakistan called the match a fantastic game. He predicted by the win of Green Shirts that Pakistan is reaching the Final. 

Christian Turner, British High Commissioner to Pakistan, also presented his analysis. He predicted that the final of the T20 world cup will be between Pakistan and England.
The Embassy of Belgium to Pakistan & Afghanistan tweeted twice on the match. First, the embassy congratulated Pakistan and admired both teams. in the second tweet, the embassy penned down, “Great to see cricket as a source of pride and pleasure to be together to share a good time.”
