Washington, 10 March 2023 (GNP): In preparation for Friday’s high-level gathering to recognize the International Day to Fight Islamophobia, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari met with Csaba Korosi, the President of the UN General Assembly, on Thursday.

The 2020 Assembly resolution designating March 15 as an international day to combat the phenomenon will be discussed at the meeting, which is being co-convened by the president of the General Assembly and the foreign minister of Pakistan. The resolution highlights the growing Islamophobia.

According to officials, President Korosi complimented FM Bilawal for the productive meeting Pakistan hosted on “Women in Islam” yesterday during the conference.
The UNGA president was thanked by the foreign minister for attending the all-day meeting. Also, the planned 2023 UN Water Conference was discussed by the two presidents.
The meeting, which is officially called the 2023 Conference for Tajikistan and the Netherlands will co-host the Midterm Comprehensive Assessment of Implementation of the UN Decade for Action on Water and Sanitation (2018-2028), which will be held at UN Headquarters in New York from March 22–24.
As water is a matter of utmost significance to Pakistan, Minister Bilawal gave the UNGA president assurances of Pakistan’s complete cooperation.
