FM Bilawal meets Russian counterpart

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari paid an official visit to Moscow from January 29 to 30 at the request of Sergey Lavrov, the Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation.


Islamabad, 29 January 2023 (GNP): Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari reached Moscow for a two-day long visit from January 29 to 30 at the request of Sergey Lavrov, the Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation. Two leaders reaffirmed their commitment and reach their relations to the next level.

FM Bilawal and their Russian counterpart agreed on mutual cooperation and discussed regional issues, including the Afghanistan crisis. Two leaders showed interest in cooperation to address the issues of Energy, Economy and Education.

On the other hand, the Foreign Office Spokesperson announced in a press release on Saturday in Islamabad that the Foreign Minister will hold official talks with his Russian counterpart where the two sides would deliberate upon the entire spectrum of bilateral relations and exchange views on the regional and international issues of mutual interest.

Additionally, India also invited the Foreign Minister of Pakistan to the Shanghai Cooperation meeting in India. It depends on Pakistan that FM Bhutto accepts an invitation to join the SCO meeting in Goa, India. If he accepts the invitation, it will be his first visit to India after 12 years.
