First ever Pakistani Pavilion unveiled at Eurasia Summit-Istanbul

Over the three-day event, 34 members of the Pakistani delegation from 20 universities in the country will give information on their various academic programmes.

Istanbul, 1 March 2023 (GNP): The Association of Private Sector Universities of Pakistan (APSUP) oversaw the opening of the first-ever Pakistani Pavilion at the Eurasian Higher Education Summit (EURI) in Istanbul. 34 members of the Pakistani delegation from 20 institutions in the country will present information on their various academic programmes throughout the course of the three-day event. They will also look at prospects for collaboration, faculty and student exchange, and joint academic programmes.

The Pakistani Pavilion was officially opened by the Pakistani delegation along with Haldun Goktas, Deputy President of the Higher Education Council, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydin, President of Euras, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary, Coordinator General of COMSTECH, Prof. Dr. Ch. Abdul Rehman, Chairman of APSUP.

Addressing at various times, they applauded APSUP’s efforts for taking concrete measures to enhance Pakistan’s positive image at this significant international forum. The 34 members of the Pakistani delegation were thanked by Prof. Dr. Ch. Abdul Rehman for their participation and cooperation. At the Pakistani Pavilion, booths have been set up by the University of Lahore, Superior University, University of Faisalabad, University of Sialkot, University of Management and Technology, and Institute of Business Management.

The largest annual international higher education event in Eurasia, EURI offers excellent chances for academic partnerships and networking for higher education institutions and other stakeholders. It has given more than 2000 delegates from 2000 colleges the chance to share best practises and experiences this year.

During the visit to Turkiye, Pakistani delegation also expressed solidarity with earthquake affected people. The delegation also visited leading Turkish universities and collaborative agreements were signed with leading international universities.

The Pakistani delegation was comprised of Mian Imran Masood Vice Chancellor University of South Asia, Dr. Abdul Basit President Preston University, Prof. Dr. Waseem Qazi President Iqra University, Muhamamd Anwar Dar Chairman Gift University, Prof. Dr. Sumaira Rehman Rector Superior University, Prof. Dr Asif Raza Rector University of Management & Technology, and Khalid Amin Chancellor Indus University.
