Islamabad, 19 January 2023 (GNP): Chairman Pakistan Tahreek-e Insaaf, Imran Khan, won the bye-elections and the result has not been published in the official Gazette. The Election Commission of Pakistan declared him the winning candidate in its reserved decision on January 19, 2023.
He contested the seven seats of the National Assembly elections in the constituencies of NA-22 Mardan, NA-24 Charsada, NA-31 Peshawar, NA-108 Faisalabad, NA-118 Nankana Sahib, and NA-239 Korangi Karachi were held on October 16, 2022, and in NA-45 Kurram on October 30, 2022. As per a unified result, former Prime Minister, Imran Khan emerged as the return candidate of the respective constituencies.
Moreover, it is mandatory to file returns of election expenses for every candidate under section 98(3) of the Election Act, 2007. The return of election expenses has to be submitted within ten days from the poll date. The commission shall not notify him in the official Gazette that he failed to submit his return of election expenses.

A candidate is unable to submit a return of expenses and the ECP has the power to disqualify him under Section 232 of the Election Act, 2017 if he violates Section 137 of the Act.
In the end, he delayed the submission of returns of election expenses within fix period of time and the petition filed by MNA Ali Gohar Baloch to hold the notification of the winning candidate.
The ECP hired a case of return of election expenses, and the Commission issued a short order in favor of Imran Khan and declared him officially the winning candidate on all seven seats as a result of the bye-elections on October 16 and October 30, 2022.
