ISLAMABAD, 28 April 2023 (GNP): In a display of Pakistan’s commitment to the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), Malik Ahmed Khan, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Defense Affairs, attended the SCO Defence Minister’s Conference on behalf of Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif in virtual mode. The conference, held on Friday, aimed to discuss ways to strengthen regional cooperation and enhance security measures within the SCO member states.
The SCO is a regional intergovernmental organization that comprises eight member states, including China, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. It aims to promote cooperation in various fields, including security, economy, and culture, among its member states.
Malik Ahmed Khan’s participation in the conference highlighted Pakistan’s continued commitment towards the SCO’s objectives and its desire to foster regional cooperation.
