Rawalpindi, 22 December 2022 (GNP): Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Asim Munir, visited the Civil Military Hospital (CMH) Rawalpindi and asked about soldiers and injured security personnel of Banu operation during his visit.
COAS apprised the efforts of soldiers and officers from the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) compound, who participated in an operation against terrorists in Banu.
Asim Munir valued the brave efforts of officers who did a successful operation on the CTD compound. He ensured that all facilities were provided for the injured security personnel at CMH Rawalpindi.
Major Abid, who was leading clearance operations from the front, was a Special Service Group leader and he was in training at Staff and Command College Quetta.

Abid cleared the terrorist compound within 20-25 minutes and was injured and admitted to CMH Rawalpindi. Major was also well-known because of the Army Public School Peshawar attack clearance.
The terrorists invaded the CTD compound and hostage Subedar Major Khursheed and released a video clip for the sake of safe passage to Afghanistan.
An operation was being launched against them and 25 were killed,3 arrested and 7 surrendered during the operation. So, all terrorists had been eliminated and the compound was cleared all in all.
Ten injuries were reported, in which 3 officers and 7 soldiers were in operation and shifted to CMH Rawalpindi. Two SSG soldiers and a hostage, Khursheed, embraced martyrs in a clearance operation.
In the end, all terrorists were eliminated from the CTD compound and the operation was completed by Security Forces.
