COAS General Asim Munir visits Bahrain

Manama, 8 January, 2024 (GNP): The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir, currently on a two-day official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain, held crucial discussions with Bahraini leadership, reinforcing military and security cooperation between the two nations.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that General Munir engaged in key meetings with prominent dignitaries including King Hamad bin Isa bin Salman Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Field Marshal Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, and General Shaikh Mohammad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Commander of Bahrain National Guard.

Discussions during these meetings focused on matters of mutual interest, highlighting the significance of bilateral military and security cooperation between Pakistan and Bahrain.

Both sides expressed their commitment to further strengthening these ties for the promotion of regional peace and stability.

The ISPR emphasized the acknowledgment and appreciation received by the Pakistan Army for its relentless efforts in combating terrorism and its continued endeavors towards regional peace.

As part of the visit, General Munir graced the 27th Raising Day of Bahrain National Guard as the chief guest, where he received a warm welcome and was accorded a Guard of Honour. He also witnessed a demonstration showcasing counter-terrorism training exercises.

In a significant moment, Commander Bahrain National Guard extended heartfelt gratitude to the Pakistan Army for its provision of highly professional training, particularly in military and counter-terrorism domains, to the Bahrain National Guard.

Highlighting the deepening ties between the two brotherly countries, King Hamad conferred Bahrain’s prestigious military medal, the “Order of Bahrain First Class,” upon COAS General Asim Munir. This recognition was in acknowledgment of General Munir’s instrumental efforts and contributions towards enhancing bilateral relations.

The visit serves as a pivotal step in reinforcing the enduring bonds between Pakistan and Bahrain, fostering collaborative endeavors in military cooperation and fortifying the longstanding fraternal ties between the two nations.
