Chinese and Saudi counterparts discuss bilateral ties

Riyadh/Beijing, 18 October 2021 (TDI): The Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi had a telephonic conversation with his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan. The conversation revolved around Sino Saudi relations.

The Chinese Minister underscored that the international environment has increasingly become uncertain and unpredictable. Under such circumstances, it is imperative that the two allies maintain strong collaborative ties for mutual benefit. He also said that Saudi Arabia is an important partner of China in the Middle Eastern region.

He also highlighted that owing to strategic leadership and relevant efforts, the ties between the two are steadily and strongly evolving. China is one of the top economic trading associates of Saudi Arabia. It is also one of the biggest importers of Saudi oil.
