China to re-open restricted areas during COVID-19 as lockdowns ease

Beijing, 13 December 2022 (GNP): Confined areas of China during the COVID-19 have been re-opened, which were at high risk of aggravating the outbreak. The country significantly reduced the number of potential areas seen to give rise to Covid-19 cases down to 4500. One such place was also a factory of Apple suppliers.

According to official sources, before the latest policy change was announced, the number of high-risk areas had gone down by 85% from more than 30,000.

A district in the Chinese district of Zhengzhou announced on Monday that it had reopened all the high-risk lockdown areas. According to the iPhone provider Foxconn, situated in the district of Zeghzhou, thousands of workers fled Foxconn premises fearing lockdowns by the covid-19, which reduced production.

According to China’s authorities insider, high-risk areas with no infections for five consecutive days must be released from lockdown.
