Moscow, 19 October 2021 (GNP): The Special Representatives of Russia, China, and Pakistan for Afghanistan met in Moscow. The purpose of the meeting was to deliberate on the prevalent situation in Afghanistan.

The three partners pledged to provide humanitarian aid and economic support to the war-torn country. Discussion on common security concerns and mutual interests was also the part of agenda. The trio claimed that they are in contact with the new rulers of Afghanistan.

Nevertheless, it is vital for the stability of the region, that peace is reinstated in Afghanistan. Ergo the diplomatic initiative by the triad.

The talks will resume on Wednesday when the representatives of Afghanistan’s new rulers arrive in Moscow. The US is not joining this session of talks but will do so in the future.

In mid-August this year, the Taliban took over as the United States and its allies pulled out troops after 20 years on the ground, leaving uncertainty in its wake.
