Islamabad, 20 April 2023 (GNP): Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, is set to lead the country’s delegation to the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization Conference of Foreign Ministers (SCO-CFM) meeting scheduled to be held on 4-5 May 2023 in Goa, India.
The move is seen as a reflection of Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to the SCO Charter and processes, as well as the country’s recognition of the region’s importance in its foreign policy priorities.
The SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organisation) is a regional intergovernmental organization that aims to promote cooperation in various fields, including security, economy, and culture, among its member states.
The organization currently comprises eight member states, including China, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
Participation of Pakistani foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto in the meeting is expected to strengthen Pakistan’s ties with other member states and facilitate the exchange of views on various regional and global issues of mutual concern.
The move also highlights the country’s keen interest in promoting peace, stability, and prosperity in the region.
