The effort is to produce such a team that would perform well under all circumstances and honors the players who displayed outstanding accomplishments throughout the course of the two-year World Test Championship cycle.
The team consists of two spinners and two fast bowlers, including all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, as well as aggressive middle-order hitters who were crucial in the championship’s latter stages.

Babar’s selection to the team is the result of his exceptional Test cricket performance over the previous 24 months. He scored more than 1,500 runs in 14 Tests, including a remarkable 425-ball 196 against Australia in Karachi that almost gave Pakistan an improbable victory. Against Sri Lanka, England, and New Zealand, he had also hit hundreds.
Although playing eight Tests in Pakistan’s batsman-friendly home stadiums, he managed to keep a 56.30 average away from home. In one crucial match against Sri Lanka in Galle, he scored 119 runs, which helped his team win.
