Azerbaijan and Croatian Foreign Minister’s meeting

Baku, 22 October 2021 (GNP/ TDI): Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister, Jeyhun Bayramov met with the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Croatia, Gordan Grlić Radman. He was on his official visit to Azerbaijan.

During the meeting Prospects of bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Croatia were discussed.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted the successful development of friendly and strategic relations between Baku and Zagreb. He has highlighted the importance of continuing the political dialogue between the two countries.

The Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan also scheduled high-level reciprocal visits to strengthen bilateral cooperation.

Minister Gordan Grlić Radman expressed satisfaction with his visit to Azerbaijan. He mentioned that there are many similarities between the two countries.

The Croatian Minister noted especially the struggle of the two countries for independence and sovereignty. He mentioned Azerbaijan’s achievements are commendable. The Minister also said that Croatia is interested in deepening the relations with Azerbaijan.

The Ministers discussed several issues on the bilateral cooperation agenda. They discussed the expansion of parliamentary ties.

During their meeting, the prospects for the development of relations in economy, energy, agriculture, high technology, humanitarian, and tourism were also discussed.

The sides also discussed the cooperation within the framework of international organizations. They emphasized cooperation with the European Union and participation within the Eastern Partnership platform.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed his counterpart about the current situation on the territory of Azerbaijan, especially the implementation of trilateral statements.

Minister also informed about the restoration and reconstruction works in the liberated areas. The Ministers also exchanged views on the contemporary situation at the regional and global levels.
