Australia’s Victoria state records in daily rise in virus cases

Corona Pandemic has surrounded the entire World into its lap and even America is helpless how to curb on the said life taking disease. More detail is here in this story.

Australia’s Victoria state reported 779 new COVID-19 infections and two deaths, a decrease from the previous day’s record high as the country’s Prime Minister has pressed state leaders to be ready to reopen once they meet vaccination targets.

The daily increase was still the state’s second-highest after the 847 cases have logged so for, as officials battle to contain a Delta variant outbreak that has taken root since midyear.

Australia’s two most populous states, Victoria and New South Wales have been struggling to contain the highly infectious variant while they ramp up vaccinations to 80% of the population, a threshold that will allow officials to ease strict lockdown measures.

Quarters of Australians have had a first dose of vaccine, while just half have had both doses.

He expects states to open up borders and ease restrictions once the 80% vaccination threshold has been met, said PM Scott Morrison.

We each have a personal responsibility for looking after our own health. And so it’s important that we do move forward,PM added.

New South Wales has recorded 288 deaths in the Delta outbreak, accounting for nearly a quarter of the country’s approximately 1,230 deaths.

Singapore’s health ministry has reported 1,939 new Covid-19 cases on Sunday, the highest since the beginning of the pandemic.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul is considering employing the National Guard and out-of-state medical workers to fill hospital staffing shortages with tens of thousands of workers unlikely to meet a Monday deadline for mandated Covid-19 vaccination.

Hospitals in the Syrian capital Damascus and the coastal province of Latakia have reached capacity due to rising coronavirus admissions, a health official said. China has reported 29 new Covid-19 cases, down from 38 a day earlier, the country’s national health authority said.

Britons are encouraged these days though in most cases not required to wear face coverings in crowded indoor spaces. But Prime Minister Boris Johnson regularly appears in the packed, poorly ventilated House of Commons cheek-by-jowl with other mask less Conservative lawmakers.
