Announcement of Winter Vacations in Punjab-2022

Lahore, 1 December 2022 (GNP): The public and private schools and colleges in the province of Punjab now have a two-phased winter break schedule.

According to reports, 24 districts in Punjab would close their schools and institutions for the winter holidays in two separate periods, from 23 December 2022 to 6 January 2023 and from 3 to 13 January, respectively.

Between December 23 and January 6, 2023, schools in the following districts will be closed: Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Faisalabad, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Jhang, Khanewal, Khushab, Lahore, Lodhran, Mandi Bahauddin, Multan, Nankana Sahib, Okara, Pakpattan, Sahiwal, Sargodha, Sheikupura, Toba Tek Singh and Vehari.

Attock, Bhakkar, Chakwal, Chiniot, DG Khan,  Jhelum, Layyah, Mianwali, Muzaffargarh, Rahim Yar Khan, Rajanpur, and Rawalpindi, are additional districts where winter holidays will begin on January 3, and last on January 13.

Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, the Chief Minister of Punjab, presided over a high-level meeting on Tuesday to assess higher education in the province and enhance it in line with international standards.

In order to promote a healthy lifestyle in society, it was resolved during the conference to reinstate athletic activities in all educational institutions. Participants in the discussion also emphasized the colleges’ financial independence.
