Pakistan Navy deploys warships to safeguard trade routes in Arabian Sea

Islamabad,8 January, 2024 (GNP): In response to recent maritime security incidents, the Pakistan Navy has deployed warships in the Arabian Sea. A spokesperson stated on Sunday that continuous patrols are being conducted to safeguard the security of the country’s trade routes.

This development follows India’s navy rescuing 21 crew members from a vessel in the Arabian Sea just two days ago.

The rescue mission was in response to a distress call indicating a hijacking, marking the latest incident of attacks on commercial shipping in the region.

In the preceding month, the Indian Navy deployed multiple warships in the sea with the aim of “maintaining a deterrent presence” in response to a series of shipping attacks, including a drone strike near India’s coast.

The Pakistan Navy emphasized in the statement that they are conducting continuous aerial surveillance of commercial passages to ensure the safety of both Pakistan and international merchant ships.
