Amber Heard Decides to Settle Case With Johnny Depp

Depp has pledged to donate one million dollars to charities after Amber Heard announced settlement with him.

Toronto, 20 December 2022 (GNP): Shortly after the Aquaman actress announced on December 9 that she decided to settle the defamation case with her ex,  Johnny Depp, the actor’s attorneys, Benjamin Chew and Camille Vasquez have responded to the development during an interview with press media.

They said: “We are pleased to formally close the door on this painful chapter for Mr. Depp, who made clear throughout this process that his priority was about bringing the truth to light. The jury’s unanimous decision and the resulting judgement in Mr. Depp’s favor against Ms. Heard remains fully in place.”

They added, “The payment of one million dollars which Mr. Depp is pledging and will actually donate to charities—reinforces Ms. Heard’s acknowledgement of the conclusion of the legal system’s rigorous pursuit for justice.”

Back in June 2022, a Virginia jury found Amber Heard, who filed for divorce from the actor in 2016, defaming Johnny Depp in her 2018 Washington Post op-ed—a piece in which she described herself as a “public figure representing domestic abuse” without naming Depp.
