Ambassador of Kazakhstan: Youth are the drivers of Pakistan- Kazakhstan relations

Islamabad, 5 May 2023 (GNP): Youth play a critical role in building bridges and fostering relationships amongst countries and groups and focusing on youth including engaging them in meaningful conversations and inviting them to share latest ideas may help Pakistan and Kazakhstan to reach the phenomenal highest of cooperation.

These were the remarks by the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Pakistan  Yerzhan Kistafin said while speaking to the winners and recipients of the certificate of the essay  competition “Knowing Kazakhstan” jointly organized by the Embassy of Kazakhstan to Pakistan, in collaboration with the Centre for Central Asia and Eurasian Studies- Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies, recently organized an essay competition entitled “Knowing Kazakhstan”.

The competition aimed to promote a deeper understanding and stronger bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Kazakhstan, especially among young students.

The Ambassador shared insights about the Pakistan- Kazakhstan relations and the latest updates and developments during the ceremony. The essay competition was organized in the backdrop of the 30th Anniversary celebrations of relations between Pakistan and Kazakhstan.

During the Prize and Certificate Distribution ceremony held at the Embassy of Kazakhstan to Pakistan, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Pakistan, Yerzhan Kistafin, spoke about the importance of engaging the youth in meaningful conversations and inviting them to share their latest ideas. He emphasized that the youth play a critical role in building bridges and fostering relationships among countries and groups.

The competition received entries from across Pakistan, and students contributed meaningfully in understanding the insight about the relations. The winner of the competition was Zulqarnain Khan from Bahira University Islamabad, who received the return air ticket.

Umm e Salma from the University of Sargodha, who secured the second position, received a smart phone, while Taj Mir Khan from the University of Engineering and Technology Peshawar, who came in third place, received a tablet. Certificates were also distributed amongst the participants of the essay competition.

The competition successfully achieved its goal of promoting a deeper understanding and building stronger bilateral cooperation, especially among young students who are the future leaders of both countries.

Pakistan-Kazakhstan Relations 

Pakistan and Kazakhstan’s time tested friendship is turning thirty years old with thousand splendid suns shining bright to reflect the sense of togetherness and support in rock solid way. Over the past three decades the robust relations continued to grow in diverse direction from policy levels to cultural cooperation, energy sector and trade, people to people ties, cooperation in education and research fields.

With sharing of the similar insights on global and regional issues, Pakistan and Kazakhstan continuously supported each other in building global peace through dialogue and diplomacy. Pakistan stood by Kazakhstan on its important foreign policy.

On the other hand Kazakhstan supported Pakistan on not only global and regional issues but offered huge energy and connectivity projects that can change the fate of the country. As a result of the visionary leadership of leadership of  Kazakhstan, the country is moving towards global peace, prosperity, and development.

Pakistan and Kazakhstan are members of important regional and international forums including United Nations, Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Economic Cooperation Organization and other important international and regional organizations.

Over the course of three decades, there were several high level visits from both sides including visits of Presidents, Prime Ministers, and Foreign Ministers. There were several important joint ministerial commission’s sessions held to move forward the ideals of cooperation in diverse sectors
