Dubai, 22 March 2023: The 15-member Pakistani national team took a flight from the Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore to Dubai on Wednesday evening, where they were welcomed with open arms.

In Sharjah Cricket Stadium, a three-game series between the two close neighbors will begin on Friday. This month, Afghanistan was supposed to commence their campaign with an ODI series against Australia, but Cricket Australia opted not to participate for due to political reasons. Pakistan subsequently agreed to the short three-match series.
An updated and youthful Pakistan team will be led by all-rounder Shadab Khan in place of the team’s regular captain, Babar Azam, and some other players.
To properly manage their workloads, the PCB has chosen to rest experienced players like Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Afridi.
