Jerusalem, 7 March 2023 (GNP): The State of Palestine appeals to the international community to take prompt, decisive action to hold Israeli authorities accountable for their crimes, ongoing incitement against the Palestinian people, and threats to perpetrate crimes.
The State believes that it is urgently necessary to take legal action in accordance with international law to hold Israeli government, military, and settler authorities accountable for their crimes and deter future transgressions since the very life of the Palestinian people in their country is under danger.
Moreover, Bezalel Smotrich, Israel’s minister of finance, needs to face consequences for inciting violence and destruction as well as for deliberately directing and assisting in the oppression of the Palestinian people on a large scale.

Israel’s deliberate use of hate speech, aggressive language, brutality, and dehumanisation of Palestinians over decades, according to the State of Palestine, is stoking widespread unrest at levels that are reminiscent of the devastation inflicted upon Palestinians during the 1948 Nakba.
Smotrich’s fascism is neither a “slip of the tongue” nor an exception; he is obviously ecstatic with the bloodshed and terrorism committed by settlers in Huwwara.
With its roots in the Nakba and nurtured by Israel’s illegal occupation and apartheid system of Jewish dominance, which institutionally degrades the Palestinian people to an inferior position, Smotrich’s provocation is the natural conclusion of 75 years of Zionist hatred-mongering.
Palestine suggests the only way to put an end to the brutality, racism, and fascism directed towards the Palestinian people is to terminate Israel’s occupation and abolish its apartheid system.

Condemnation words alone will not be sufficient for accountability if not supported by action. Israel’s reckless aggressions against the Palestinian people must stop immediately, and immediate international protection must be provided.
Hence, Palestine urge the international community to honour its duties and commitments under international law and to take concrete steps to hold Israeli leaders accountable for the atrocities being committed against the Palestinian people.
No shared ideals can exist with a war criminal. Allowing Smotrich to go to the United States or any other nation is an open support of incitement that is determined to destroy the Palestinian people and should not be encouraged in any way.
