
RDA’s Enforcement Squad Conducts Operation Against Illegal Constructions Near 18 Housing Scheme
RAWALPINDI : Following directives from the Divisional Intelligence Committee, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA)’s Task Force has intensified its crackdown on illegal housing schemes. In a recent operation, the RDA Squad targeted unauthorized/illegal constructions near / opposite the Eighteen Housing Scheme and successfully sealed the site. This operation is part of RDA’s broader efforts to enforce urban planning regulations and combat unauthorized development in the region, according to an RDA spokesperson.
The crackdown was supervised by the Director General (DG) RDA, Kinza Murtaza, who emphasized the continuation operations to combat fraudulent practices and protect citizens from exploitation.
The DG RDA said that under the guidance of the Commissioner Rawalpindi, we are committed to maintaining a vigorous approach in eliminating illegal housing societies.
She emphasized that public complaints regarding illegal land occupation by housing scheme owners are being taken seriously, and strict actions will be taken against those involved in forceful land grabs.
The RDA consistently issues press releases to inform the public and advises citizens to avoid investing in illegal housing schemes. The public is encouraged to visit the RDA website (www.rda.gop.pk) and only engage with approved housing schemes.
Despite previous warnings to cease illegal advertisements, bookings, and development activities, the owners of the mentioned housing schemes continued to operate booking offices in violation of regulations.
The key team members of the operation were Superintendent Planning Shafqat Shah, along with RDA Scheme/Building Inspectors Muhamad Tariq, Imran Hussain and other team members.
