Mustafa Kamal and Syed Imran Ahmed Shah Announce Joint Welfare Initiatives to Support Underprivileged and Disabled Citizens

Islamabad : Federal Minister for Health, Mustafa Kamal, and Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety of Pakistan, Syed Imran Ahmed Shah, held a pivotal meeting today to discuss avenues of collaboration between the two ministries for the welfare of the underprivileged segments of society.

During the meeting, both leaders agreed to strengthen inter-ministerial cooperation for public welfare and discussed the introduction of a data-sharing system to facilitate support for economically disadvantaged patients. The initiative aims to ensure that those in need receive timely and effective assistance.

Federal Minister Mustafa Kamal emphasized the government’s commitment to improving hospital facilities under the Ministry of Health to better serve deserving patients. He remarked, “Provision of quality healthcare is a shared national responsibility, and we are taking practical steps to enhance services for the marginalized.”

Meanwhile, Minister Syed Imran Ahmed Shah announced directives for Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal to procure wheelchairs for persons with disabilities, calling it a vital move to support their mobility and dignity. He further stated that all institutions under the Ministry of Poverty Alleviation would be aligned under a unified national framework to increase efficiency and impact.

In a significant move to enhance accessibility, Shah also directed that facilitation desks of Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal be made more effective at PIMS and other public hospitals across the country.

Both ministers have instructed the preparation of a joint working paper outlining the collaborative strategy. “This partnership will bring positive change to the lives of the lower-income population,” said Minister Kamal.

The meeting marks a new chapter in inter-ministerial collaboration, aimed at delivering inclusive, people-centered services to those who need them most.
