ISLAMABAD – Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Industries and Production, Haroon Akhtar Khan, was invited as the Chief Guest at the Auto Parts Summit 2025.
Speaking on the occasion, Haroon Akhtar Khan highlighted the pivotal role of the auto parts industry in Pakistan’s economic development. He stated that the sector currently contributes 3% to the national GDP and has created over 2.5 million employment opportunities.

The SAPM noted that seven major car manufacturers are producing vehicles locally, supported by over 1,200 auto parts manufacturers engaged in local production. However, he acknowledged challenges such as energy costs, access to technology, and financing, which require comprehensive solutions.
Mr. Khan emphasized that, under the directives of the Prime Minister, the government is committed to formulating policies to bring Pakistan’s auto industry up to global standards. He reaffirmed the government’s resolve to implement the New Energy Vehicle Policy 2025-30, which will drive innovation and sustainability in the sector.
He further stated that the government is extending full support to the industry in the areas of research, development, and export promotion, with the aim of making Pakistan’s automotive sector globally competitive.

Encouraging industrialists to invest in modern technology and research, Mr. Khan stressed that the collaboration between the government and industry will transform Pakistan into a regional automotive hub.
“The future of Pakistan’s automotive industry is bright,” he concluded.
