Bulgarian, Nepalese Ambassador Calls on NA Speaker

Islamabad : Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq met with the Ambassador of Bulgaria, Irina Gancheva, in Parliament House. The Speaker stated that Pakistan is desirous of further enhancing economic and parliamentary cooperation with Bulgaria. He underscored that ample opportunities exist for collaboration in the fields of trade and investment. Strengthening contacts between the business communities of both countries and promoting exchanges of delegations in cultural and educational sectors would serve to further consolidate bilateral relations, he observed.

The Speaker termed parliamentary exchanges an effective instrument for promoting mutual cooperation and noted that the Pakistan–Bulgaria Parliamentary Friendship Group in the National Assembly is playing an active role in strengthening bilateral ties. Ambassador Gancheva congratulated the Speaker on Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day and expressed that Bulgarian investors are deeply interested in investing in Pakistan. She appreciated the Speaker’s initiatives for promoting parliamentary linkages and termed them in the best interest of both countries.

Ambassador of Nepal, Rita Dhital also called on NA Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.The Speaker reaffirmed Pakistan’s desire to promote economic and parliamentary cooperation with Nepal, noting that there are vast opportunities for collaboration in trade, investment, and tourism. Stressing the importance of people-to-people contacts and parliamentary delegation exchanges, he said such interactions provide opportunities to benefit from each other’s experiences.

The Speaker emphasized the need to further activate Parliamentary Friendship Groups in the legislatures of both countries and called for joint efforts to promote peace, stability, and development in South Asia. He further highlighted the importance of revitalising the SAARC platform to enhance regional cooperation. Ambassador Dhital said that Nepal values its longstanding relations with Pakistan and is committed to enhancing cooperation in the fields of trade and tourism. She termed Pakistan–Nepal close relations as beneficial for the entire region.
