
Islamabad. Pakistan National Council of the Arts(PNCA) is organizing a two-week miniature painting workshop led by renowned artist and educator Farrah Mahmood Rana. The workshop continuing at the National Art Gallery, in-connection with the 79th Independence Day celebrations of Pakistan, drew a diverse group of professionals, including engineers, doctors, advocates, architects, and artists.
Workshop session 1:
Session 1: Suffaid Qalam*: The first session focused on fine white line drawing, an essential element of classical miniature painting. Participants learned traditional techniques using miniature brushes (Qalam).
The workshop explored the intricate traditional technique of Suffaid Qalam (monochrome)
The workshop wasn’t just about technical training but also a cultural experience, fostering appreciation for indigenous art forms and encouraging cross-disciplinary exchange.

Farrah Mahmood Rana, a graduate of the National College of Arts (NCA) and recipient of the President’s Award for Pride of Performance (2024), brought a wealth of experience to the workshop, having exhibited in over 160 international shows.
