Empowering Balochistan Govt Paves New Path for Differently-Abled Citizens

Quetta : Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety, Syed Imran Ahmed Shah, has said that a new era of development and prosperity has begun in Balochistan, and the day is not far when the province will emerge as a peaceful and prosperous region. He expressed these views while addressing a special ceremony held in connection with the Deaf Reach Center, where a significant agreement was signed between the Social Welfare Department of Balochistan and the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF).

The Minister termed the agreement a historic milestone for differently-abled persons in Balochistan—especially for individuals with hearing impairments—as it will ensure the provision of modern facilities and inclusive opportunities. “We are not just constructing buildings, we are transforming lives. Providing education and employment is a national responsibility,” he said.

Highlighting the cultural diversity of Balochistan, the Minister said, “All communities residing in the province—Baloch, Pashtun, and Hazara—are close to our hearts.” He reiterated the government’s unwavering commitment to empowering differently-abled individuals and integrating them as active members of society. “When we place our trust in Allah, He opens the paths of ease. All of us must play our role in the development of Balochistan,” he added.

The ceremony was attended by Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training Wajeeha Qamar, PPAF CEO Nadir Gul Barech, Secretary Social Welfare Ismat Qureshi, and a large number of social leaders and community members.

Minister Shah extended his appreciation to the PPAF team and noted that his three-day visit to Quetta was filled with meaningful engagements and lasting memories. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to making Balochistan a developed, peaceful, and prosperous province.
