Pakistan immense unexploited potential in renewable energy, Pirzada

Islamabad :  Pakistan Alternative Energy Association (PAEA) successfully organized a high-level Renewable Energy Conference.
The conference focused on promoting alternative energy sources in Pakistan, including solar power, wind energy, mini-hydro systems, biofuels, and electric vehicles (EVs).

Minister for Housing and Works Riaz Hussain Pirzada has emphasized on the importance of prioritizing the integration of renewable energy with climate resilient strategies.


Addressing a ceremony in Renewable Energy Conference, he said Pakistan has immense unexploited potential in renewable energy including solar, wind, hydro, geo-thermal and bio energy.
He said Pakistan receives some of the highest solar isolation in the world with a potential of over 2.9 million MW. The Minister said Pakistan’s coastal regions particularly in Sindh and Balochistan hold an estimated wind energy potential approximately fifty thousand MW.
Many experts, professionals, and industry leaders joined the event. The conference included presentations on PAEA’s history and activities, the potential of biofuels, mini hydropower, and Pakistan’s clean energy future.

PAEA hosted the event and welcomed all the guests warmly. The chief guests included, Federal Minister Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada,  Admiral Muhammad Asif Sandila, Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan, General Haroon Sikander Pasha, Major General Ahsan Ali, General Salahuddin, Abbas khan, Add secretary ministry of communication Ijlal Ahmad khan, Joint secretary economic affairs division, Shah jahan mirza, DG PPIB, Irfan ullah khan, Ministry of energy KPK, Mr Asif Sandhela , Admiral General (retired).

PAEA Chairman Aamir Hussain, along with founding members Abdul Nasir Rehman, Zia Ullah Khan, Muhammad Shahzaib, and Mian Waqas Azfar, welcomed the guests and shared their vision for a clean and energy-independent Pakistan.

The event ended with a strong message: Pakistan needs a united effort to move toward renewable and clean energy sources. PAEA invited all professionals, companies, and youth to join hands and be part of this journey.
