ISLAMABAD (GNP): Every team has now reached Islamabad for the Billie Jean King Cup Asia/Oceania Group III, which runs from 21 to 24 October 2026 at the Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) Tennis Complex on Garden Avenue. It is the first time this international women’s team tennis event has been held in Pakistan.
Bhutan’s national team was the last to land, following the earlier arrivals of Maldives, Iran, Kuwait, Qatar, Jordan and Bahrain. The tournament will bring together women players from across the region. Eight nations will compete: Bahrain, Bhutan, Iran, Jordan, Kuwait, Maldives, Pakistan and Qatar.
PTF President Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and Secretary General Col. Zia-ud-Din Tufail, together with the federation’s management, welcomed the visiting delegations and said they were pleased to host the event for the first time.
The PTF leadership said that staging the competition reflects Pakistan’s continuing commitment to developing tennis, especially the women’s game. It also strengthens international sporting ties and gives Pakistani players the chance to face foreign opponents at home.

The federation is making comprehensive arrangements to receive all teams, officials and delegates and to ensure the championship runs smoothly at the PTF Tennis Complex. Hosting the Billie Jean King Cup, it said, is a significant milestone for Pakistan tennis and shows the country’s growing ability to stage international events.
