Teams Begin Arriving in Islamabad for Billie Jean King Cup Asia

ISLAMABAD (GNP): Teams have started reaching Islamabad for the Billie Jean King Cup Asia/Oceania Group III, which will run from 21 to 24 October 2026 at the Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) Tennis Complex on Garden Avenue. It is the first time this international women’s team tennis event has been staged in Pakistan.

The Maldives squad was the first to land, beginning the arrivals for a tournament that will bring together women players from across the region. Eight nations will compete: Bahrain, Bhutan, Iran, Jordan, Kuwait, Maldives, Pakistan and Qatar.

PTF President Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and Secretary General Col. Zia-ud-Din Tufail, together with the federation’s management, greeted the visiting delegations and said they were delighted to host the event for the first time.

The PTF leadership said that staging the competition shows Pakistan’s continuing commitment to developing tennis, especially the women’s game. It also strengthens international sporting ties and gives Pakistani players a chance to face foreign opponents at home.
