Federal Minister for Science and Technology visit to PCSIR Laboratories Complex

Lahore: Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Mr. Khalid Hussain Magsi, visited the PCSIR Laboratories Complex. He was briefed by Director General Dr. Quratulain Syed on key R&D initiatives across PCSIR’s ten core centers.

The Federal Minister toured the Display Hall, showcasing indigenous technologies in pharmaceuticals, food, chemicals, biotechnology, lab equipment, and energy-saving appliances. He also visited the Technology and Innovation Support Center (TISC), where he was introduced to the “Patent Wall” and briefed on PCSIR’s efforts in technology commercialization.

A major highlight was the Minister’s appreciation of PCSIR’s pioneering work in hemp-based products—ranging from food and cosmetics to pharmaceuticals and eco-friendly construction materials. He acknowledged their economic and environmental significance and affirmed government support for research-led innovation. The upcoming issuance of licenses for hemp-based product manufacturing is expected to bring national benefits.
