Islamabad (GNP): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif pledged Pakistan’s continued commitment to deepening its bilateral relationship with Italy, with particular focus on agriculture, information technology, artificial intelligence, industrial development, textiles and cultural exchange between the two nations.
The prime minister shared these remarks while receiving Italy’s newly appointed Ambassador to Pakistan, Ugo Ciarlatani, at the Prime Minister’s House.
Welcoming the ambassador, Shehbaz described the relationship between Pakistan and Italy as strong and productive, and reaffirmed Pakistan’s readiness to work closely with Italy to build on existing cooperation across all areas of shared interest.
He also sent his regards to Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, recalling their past meetings, and congratulated her on completing four years in office, a milestone that makes her the longest serving prime minister in Italy’s history.

In response, Ambassador Ciarlatani expressed appreciation for the meeting and pledged to dedicate his tenure to strengthening and expanding ties between the two countries. He also committed to maintaining close collaboration with Pakistani officials on matters of mutual benefit.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Syed Tariq Fatemi, and Foreign Secretary Ambassador Amna Baloch.
Shehbaz said, “Pakistan and Italy enjoy a strong and productive relationship, and we remain committed to building on this cooperation.”
