The time duration between sunset and moonset is expected to be 75 minutes along the coastal areas of the country, providing most favorable conditions for the sighting of the new moon.
Based on astronomical parameters, the chances of sighting of the new moon of Muharram are excellent under clear weather conditions on the evening of 26 June. Consequently, the 1st Muharram would fall on 27 June.
