LONDON (GNP): Zendaya and Tom Holland returned to the spotlight on Wednesday evening, headlining the London premiere of their new film Spider-Man: Brand New Day at a packed Leicester Square that drew large crowds hoping to catch sight of the couple.
The event capped off a whirlwind year for the pair, who married recently and are also set to appear together in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film The Odyssey. Their red carpet appearances have drawn steady attention from fans and press throughout the summer.
Asked by the BBC how she manages working alongside her husband, Zendaya kept her answer simple, noting that the closeness of their friendship makes collaborating on set feel effortless.
In the new film, Holland once again plays Peter Parker and his Spider-Man persona, while Zendaya returns as his love interest, MJ. The actress once again turned heads on the carpet, wearing a floor-length champagne silk gown by designer Tamara Ralph featuring web-inspired detailing that complemented the venue’s white carpet. Her fashion choices continue to draw notice for tying directly into the themes of the films she is promoting.
Discussing her creative partnership with longtime stylist Law Roach, Zendaya explained that dressing for these premieres allows her to carry the film’s storytelling beyond the screen and into the press tour itself. When pressed on whether her gown hinted at plot details, she declined to confirm anything, telling reporters to draw their own conclusions.
Holland, who has portrayed Spider-Man since 2016, described the experience of filming the latest instalment as enjoyable, pointing to the freedom the cast found in bringing new dimensions to characters they have played for a decade. He wore a burgundy Louis Vuitton suit accented with a spider-shaped brooch for the occasion.

The actor, now 30, sidestepped questions about whether this appearance marks the end of his run as the web-slinger, suggesting instead that the film itself would offer clues. He added that he remains open to sharing the screen with other characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe in future projects, citing the number of collaborators he still hopes to work with.

Joining the cast for the first time is Stranger Things actress Sadie Sink, whose role in the film has been kept tightly under wraps. She did not attend the London premiere, and speculation about her character continues to circulate online without confirmation from the studio.
The new film picks up after Peter Parker’s decision to erase himself from the memories of everyone close to him, meaning he must now navigate relationships with friends and his girlfriend, who no longer recognize him.
Brand New Day also features Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal and Mark Ruffalo, with Destin Daniel Cretton stepping in as director for this instalment. Early reviews have leaned positive, with critics from major outlets praising the film’s tone and performances, while a smaller number offered more mixed assessments, singling out Zendaya’s performance as a standout even where other elements drew criticism.
The franchise’s previous entry, 2021’s No Way Home, remains one of the highest-grossing films in the series, having taken in close to two billion dollars worldwide, underscoring the commercial weight riding on this latest release.
