Islamabad (GNP): President Asif Ali Zardari hosted Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at the President’s House for a high-level meeting covering national security, domestic affairs, and the broader regional situation.
The meeting brought together a senior gathering of state and party figures, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, and Prime Minister’s Advisor on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah.
Discussions ranged across several areas of national importance, including the economy, federal budget preparations for the coming fiscal year, the recently concluded elections in Gilgit-Baltistan, the situation in Azad Kashmir, and law and order conditions across the country.

On the budget, President Zardari stressed that public welfare, provincial rights, and economic stability must serve as the guiding priorities in the forthcoming federal budget. He urged that efforts be directed toward aligning growth targets with tangible relief measures for the general public.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi briefed the President on his recent visit to Iran and the diplomatic engagements conducted during that trip.
The meeting was also attended by Senator Sherry Rehman, MNA Syed Naveed Qamar, Senator Saleem Mandviwala, and Senator Ahad Cheema. PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Raja Faisal Rathore, and MNA Raja Pervez Ashraf were also present.
