Lahore (GNP) :- Chairperson Chief Minister’s Complaint Cell, Saima Farooq, said while chairing an open court in Sahiwal Arts Council that public trust is a real strength of any government, and this trust is further strengthened through people-friendly governance.
She added that open courts are the best medium to convey citizens’ voices directly to government representatives, ensuring justice and relief for the people at their doorstep.
On this occasion, Commissioner Sahiwal Division Dr. Asif Tufail, Deputy Commissioner Captain (Retd.) Samiullah Farooq, DPO Muhammad Usman Tipu, along with officers from all government departments, were present in the open court; where citizens presented their issues and complaints related to various departments. She noted that a total of 271 applications were received, which were handed over to relevant officers with the directions for immediate action and resolution within stipulated timeframe.
Chairperson Saima Farooq said that following the directions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, open courts are being held across the province to reduce gap between public and the government; in order to provide citizens an opportunity to present their complaints directly. She directed the officers concerned to ensure immediate progress on the applications received as no negligence will be tolerated in this regard. She added that no legitimate complaint of any citizen will be ignored, and all departments must fulfill their responsibilities with a spirit of public service.
She underscored that Punjab government continues practical measures for lasting solutions to public issues, promotion of transparency, and improvement in the performance of government institutions. She expressed commitment that regular monitoring of applications received through open courts will be carried out so that citizens can truly receive relief and benefits of government initiatives at the grassroots level.
Under Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s directions, open courts continue to be held across the province, as Chairperson CM Complaints Cell, Saima Farooq, led an open court at Quaid-e-Azam Divisional Public School in Gujranwala, where she was accompanied by Commissioner Muhammad Ali, RPO Khurram Shahzad Haider, Deputy Commissioner Naveed Ahmed, and other officers concerned. They heard citizens’ complaints directly, and issued orders on the spot for their immediate resolution. A large number of senior administrative and police officers also attended the open court; besides officers from WASA, GWMC, Highways, Health, and Education. Saima Farooq said that a purpose of holding an open court is to provide immediate relief to the citizens at their doorstep, as 212 complaints against various departments were received during the open court, and orders were issued on the spot for taking immediate action on all of them. She added that they intend to hold this open court to reduce a gap between public and the administration; and highlighted that special emphasis is being placed on promoting transparency and providing immediate public relief.
