Pakistan Emerges as a Regional Stability Force After Marka-e-Haq

Islamabad (GNP): Sardar Masood Khan, former Ambassador of Pakistan to the United States, China, and Permanent Representative to the United Nations, has stated that Pakistan’s resolute response during India’s aggression last year marked a defining moment in the country’s history, reinforcing its position as a strong, resilient, and responsible regional power.

Addressing a distinguished gathering at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Ambassador Khan paid tribute to the Armed Forces of Pakistan for their “precise, proportionate, and decisive” response to Indian aggression. He noted that the conflict served as a real-time test of Pakistan’s deterrence capability, which was not only validated but elevated to a position of clear superiority.

Recalling the events of May 6 last year, Ambassador Khan described Pakistan retaliation as a “proud moment” for the nation, emphasizing that it successfully defended its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and political independence in the face of external aggression. He underscored that the coordinated and integrated military response demonstrated doctrinal clarity, operational excellence, and technological competence.

He further noted that Pakistan’s diplomatic engagement during and after the conflict led to significant strategic gains, including improved relations with major global powers, especially the United States, and enhanced strategic cooperation with regional partners such as Saudi Arabia. “Pakistan’s diplomatic traction increased remarkably, with key countries seeking closer engagement and strategic alignment,” he remarked.

Turning to the youth, Ambassador Khan emphasized their central role in shaping Pakistan’s future. Addressing students and faculty, he highlighted that nearly two-thirds of Pakistan’s population comprises young people, making them the primary stakeholders in the country’s progress. He urged them to prepare for leadership roles, noting that by 2047, Pakistan aims to emerge among the world’s leading economies.

Ambassador Khan also underscored Pakistan’s evolving role in global diplomacy, particularly its mediation efforts in ongoing war between United States and Iran. He revealed that Pakistan’s effective facilitation of sensitive engagements between major powers has earned it unprecedented trust and recognition on the global stage.

While celebrating these achievements, he cautioned against complacency, stressing the need for continued vigilance in light of persistent regional threats. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to safeguarding its national interests while advocating for peace and stability.

Concluding his address, Ambassador Khan called for a renewed focus on economic strength, technological advancement, and investment attraction. “Pakistan must leverage its strategic successes to build a robust economic foundation and emerge not only as a secure state but as a hub of prosperity for the region,” he stated, adding that the country is well-positioned to play a leading role in ensuring regional stability and cooperation.
