Qaiser Ahmed Honoured at UK Parliament for Public Service

Islamabad (GNP): One of the most distinguished highlights of Federal Minister for Board of Investment, Mr. Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh’s recent official visit to the United Kingdom was his recognition at a prestigious ceremony held at the UK Parliament, where he was commended for his outstanding contributions as a philanthropist and parliamentarian.

The honour was conferred during an event organized by the United International Forum UK (UIF-UK), in the presence of British parliamentarians, members of the House of Lords, diplomats, and prominent members of the overseas Pakistani community, including Chairman Overseas Pakistani Foundation (OPF), Syed Qamar Raza.

On behalf of the United International Forum UK, the appreciation was presented by the former Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, Baroness Patricia Scotland, who acknowledged the Minister’s remarkable services and his growing recognition both within Pakistan and globally.

Addressing the distinguished gathering, President UIF-UK, Shehzada Hayat, paid glowing tribute to the Federal Minister, describing him as “far more than a politician—a rare parliamentarian whose connection with the people of Pakistan is deeply rooted in trust and admiration.” He further remarked that Mr. Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh is widely regarded as a “politician-saint,” owing to his integrity, compassion, and unwavering commitment to public welfare.

Highlighting the Minister’s philanthropic legacy, Shehzada Hayat noted that Mr. Sheikh has consistently prioritized the well-being of his people, exemplified by his refusal to draw a salary as a public representative—an act reflecting his deep love for Pakistan and dedication to service.

His impactful contributions in Chiniot were particularly acknowledged, where he has played a transformative role in establishing modern educational institutions and expanding access to quality education for underprivileged communities. Guided by the vision that no child should be deprived of education due to financial hardship, the Minister has personally supported the educational expenses of numerous deserving students, ensuring dignity through education.

In addition to education, his efforts in strengthening rural healthcare were also highlighted. Through the organization of free medical camps, provision of medicines, and accessible healthcare services, he has brought relief to countless families, further reinforcing his commitment to human development.

His efforts are focused on encouraging both domestic and international investment, particularly in rural and underserved areas, promoting industrial development, generating employment opportunities, and ensuring inclusive economic growth.
