P@SHA Concludes Exclusive CXO Meetup in Karachi, Sindh Government & PSEB Rally for IT Exports
Karachi : Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA) hosted a high-profile HBL P@SHA CXO Meetup in Karachi. The exclusive event gathered leading IT industry executives, policymakers and government officials for detailed consultations on accelerating Pakistan’s IT exports and navigating the nation’s digital transformation.
Ali Rashid, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister (SACM) Sindh on Information Technology, attended as the Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering, he stated that Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has positioned Information Technology as a fundamental pillar of the province’s economic growth.
“The provincial government considers the IT sector the backbone of our economic progress and will resolve industry challenges on a priority basis,” said Ali Rashid. “We will fully leverage the expertise of P@SHA and the local IT industry for the digitization and e-governance of provincial government departments.”
He further emphasized that Pakistan cannot compete globally without advancing modern technology, particularly Artificial Intelligence (AI), noting that creating Ease of Doing Business for IT companies and freelancers remains a core component of the government’s digital vision.
Faisal Jeddy, CEO of the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), participated in the meetup as the keynote speaker to consult directly with industry leaders on export growth strategies. He shared a major development, announcing that foreign companies are now eligible to open Roshan Digital Accounts (RDAs) as well.
“We are formulating a comprehensive strategy in collaboration with P@SHA to increase IT exports and attract global clients,” Jeddy stated. “PSEB is expanding its facilitation scope to enable local software houses to compete globally. The construction of IT Parks and the provision of world-class working infrastructure are among our top targets.”
He also reaffirmed PSEB’s commitment to escalating the legitimate demands and proposals of the IT industry to the highest government tiers for policy integration.
Sajjad Mustafa Syed, Chairman P@SHA, stressed the urgency of technological adoption, remarking, “Without Artificial Intelligence (AI) and 5G infrastructure, we cannot stay in the global technology race.”
He assured that the industry will play its full advisory and technical role in the success of the government’s digital vision – including the ambitious $1 billion AI projects. However, he maintained, “It is impossible to attract foreign clients and investment without ensuring true, competitive Ease of Doing Business.”
The Secretary of Information Technology, Government of Sindh, noted that youth require modern skills and technology training aligned with global market demands, rather than just academic degrees.
Muhammad Umair Nizam, Senior Vice Chairman of P@SHA, highlighted key achievements of P@SHA over the last 1.5 years; while, the industry engagement Co-Chair, Munaf Majeed, stressed upon the importance of resolving the IT industry’s issues through close and continuing iaison with the government.
