Pak–Türkiye education ties boost bilateral relations, Neziroglu

Turkish University Fair 2026 successful organized to enhance academic collaboration

ISLAMABAD  (GNP ):  Ambassador of Turkiye to Pakistan, Irfan Neziroglu emphasized the deep-rooted relationship between Türkiye and Pakistan, noting that educational cooperation continues to play a vital role in further strengthening bilateral ties.

Turkish University Fair 2026 successfully held in federal capital to bringing together leading higher education institutions from Türkiye and fostering meaningful engagement with Pakistan’s academic community. Organized by Maarif Agency with the support of the Turkish Maarif Foundation and the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Türkiye, the event aimed to promote international education opportunities and enhance academic collaboration between the two countries.

The fair featured participation from nine prominent Turkish universities, offering students detailed information on academic programs, admission procedures, and scholarship opportunities.
The event attracted a wide audience of students, educators, and institutional representatives from across Pakistan.

Distinguished attendees included H.E.  Irfan Neziroglu, Ambassador of Türkiye to Pakistan, and the Chairman of the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, along with vice chancellors and senior representatives from leading Pakistani universities.

Prominent institutions from Pakistan, including the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), FAST National University, COMSATS University Islamabad, University of Lahore, Lahore College for Women University, Foundation University Islamabad, University of Education Lahore, and Riphah International University, actively participated in the ceremony.

In addition to student engagement, the fair provided a platform for structured discussions between Pakistani and Turkish institutions. Key areas of collaboration explored included student mobility programs, joint research initiatives, and academic partnerships aimed at strengthening institutional ties.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan highlighted the importance of such initiatives in expanding educational opportunities and promoting knowledge exchange between the two nations.

The expo witnessed strong participation, reflecting the growing interest among Pakistani students in pursuing higher education in Türkiye. With its globally recognized universities and diverse academic offerings, Türkiye currently hosts over 380,000 international students from more than 180 countries.

Building on the success of previous editions, the Turkish University Fair 2026 reaffirmed its role as a key platform for fostering academic exchange and opening new pathways for collaboration between Pakistan and Türkiye.
