
Haroon Akhtar Stresses Local Production and Technological Collaboration in Agricultural Machinery Sector
Islamabad : Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production, Haroon Akhtar Khan, chaired a high-level meeting with Frank Wang, CEO of LiuGong Agricultural Machinery, along with leading tractor manufacturers, in Islamabad today.
The meeting focused on the introduction of modern tractor technology, sugarcane harvesting machinery, and the promotion of local manufacturing of agricultural equipment in Pakistan.
Frank Wang briefed the participants about LiuGong’s operations, stating that the company manufactures heavy machinery including cranes, loaders, excavators, tractors, and bulldozers. He added that LiuGong also provides training to its partners in the fields of agricultural machinery, sugarcane harvesting, and modern technology.
Haroon Akhtar Khan emphasized the importance of joint venture partnerships between Pakistani tractor manufacturers and LiuGong to enhance local production capacity and technological exchange. He said that bringing together modern technology, agriculture, and the local manufacturing sector is the need of the hour.
He further noted that local production of agricultural machinery would create employment opportunities and help open new avenues for export. The SAPM assured that the government would extend full facilitation to local manufacturers in adopting modern technology to strengthen Pakistan’s agricultural and industrial base.
