We always stood with Pakistan and will keep strengthening our ties, Nazir Oglu

Flag hoisting ceremony marks Türkiye’s National Day at Pakistan Monument

Islamabad: A ceremony was held at the Pakistan Monument to mark the National Day of the Republic of Türkiye. The event was graced by Chairman Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP), Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, and the Ambassador of Türkiye to Pakistan, Dr. Irfan Nazir Oglu. The ceremony was attended by senior government officials, students, civil society members, and media representatives.
The event began with the hoisting of the national flags of Pakistan and Türkiye, followed by the playing of both national anthems. The sight of the two flags fluttering together symbolized the deep-rooted friendship and unity between the two brotherly nations.

Chairman PMYP Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan highlighted that the friendship between Pakistan and Türkiye is timeless and based on shared faith, respect, and mutual trust. “From the days of the Khilafat Movement to the present, the people of Pakistan have always stood with their Turkish brothers and sisters,” he said.
He emphasized that celebrating Türkiye’s National Day at the iconic Pakistan Monument carries a powerful message of solidarity. “The people of Pakistan cherish their historical, cultural, and emotional ties with Türkiye. The love between our nations is not limited to governments—it lives in the hearts of our people,” he stated.
Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan added that “Türkiye Culture Week” is being celebrated across Pakistan with great enthusiasm. Various cities are hosting cultural exhibitions, music performances, and art showcases that depict the depth of historical relations between the two nations. He appreciated the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) for organizing a photo exhibition and Turkish music concert that beautifully displayed the spirit of Pakistan–Türkiye friendship.
He congratulated the government and people of Türkiye on their National Day and expressed that Pakistani youth deeply admire Türkiye’s spirit of progress, innovation, and resilience. “Under the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, we are working to enhance cooperation with Turkish institutions, enabling our young people to learn, collaborate, and act as cultural ambassadors between both nations,” he added.

Ambassador Dr. Irfan Nazir Oglu, in his remarks, said that Türkiye considers Pakistan its closest brotherly country. “Our relationship is based on trust, mutual respect, and shared aspirations. We have always stood with Pakistan in all circumstances and will continue to strengthen our ties in the years ahead,” he said.
The Ambassador commended the efforts of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme in empowering young people and promoting Pakistan–Türkiye cooperation. He stressed that youth exchanges and joint cultural initiatives are vital for shaping a prosperous and peaceful future.
The ceremony concluded with prayers for the continued prosperity, peace, and friendship of both Pakistan and Türkiye.
