
11th Meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir Held Under the Chairmanship of Federal Minister Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon
Islamabad; The 11th meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir was held at the New Civil Secretariat, Muzaffarabad, under the chairmanship of Federal Minister and Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir, Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon.
The meeting was attended virtually by members of the Committee, Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry and Syed Javed Ali, via video link. Other participants included Members of the National Assembly Malik Ibrar Ahmed, Mr. Asad Alam Niazi, Mr. Fateh Ullah Khan, Mr. Azhar Qayyum Nahra, Former President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Masood Khan, Chief Secretary of Azad Kashmir, Khushhal Khan, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, Ali Akbar, Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bilal Chaudhry, Member of PTA Dr. Khakwani, Deputy Director General of Airports, Sadiq-ur-Rehman, heads of relevant departments, and other stakeholders.
During the session, a comprehensive review was conducted on the implementation status of the decisions made during the 10th meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir. Chief Secretary of Azad Kashmir, Khushhal Khan provided the committee with a detailed briefing on the current political, social, and economic situation in Azad Jammu & Kashmir.
Participants of the meeting emphasized the need to effectively highlight the Kashmir issue both nationally and internationally, and to further organize efforts in support of the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination. The meeting reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to continue its political, diplomatic, and moral support to the Kashmiri people.
Furthermore, the committee agreed on the need to ensure political and economic stability in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, promote good governance, prioritize public welfare, and complete development projects in accordance with the needs of the people.
The committee also issued directions for the timely completion of feasibility studies for airports in all three divisions of Azad Jammu & Kashmir, and instructed relevant departments to take immediate steps to address the issues faced by Jammu and Kashmir refugees residing in Pakistan.
Concluding the meeting, Chairman and Federal Minister, Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon directed all concerned institutions to strengthen national unity, adopt an effective strategy, and intensify diplomatic efforts at international forums to ensure that the voice of the Kashmiri people is heard across the globe.
