Chinese Tiles Delegation Meets SAPM Khan on FBR Camera Policy

Islamabad : A delegation from the Chinese tiles industry called on the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production, Haroon Akhtar Khan, to discuss the Federal Board of Revenue’s (FBR) camera installation policy in the tiles and ceramics sector.

During the meeting, Haroon Akhtar Khan clarified that the cameras are being installed only on the production line for counting tiles, and at the final stage of production for QR code packaging and product counting purposes.

He stated that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed that Chinese investors be fully encouraged and facilitated in their business operations in Pakistan. Mr. Khan emphasized that all industries have agreed to comply with the policy and to install the necessary facilities accordingly.

“This initiative is of great importance and in the best interest of the industry,” said Mr. Haroon Akhtar Khan. He further instructed that no cameras should be installed at any stage other than the final production line, and any violation in this regard should be reported to the government.

Mr. Khan reaffirmed the government’s commitment to facilitating investors and ensuring a conducive business environment, adding that such measures are aimed at protecting and promoting industrial growth.

The FBR representatives assured the Chinese manufacturers of complete cooperation and transparency regarding the camera installation process.
