Quetta, 07 March 2023 (GNP): In a tragic incident in the Bolan district of Balochistan, a suicide attacker targeted an convoy of the Balochistan Constabulary, killing 9 and injuring 13 others. According to the senior superintendent of police Mahmood Notezai, The explosion occurred near the bordering areas of Kachhi and Sibbi Districts, when Constabulary van was coming back from Quetta to Sibbi.
According to the authorities, The motorcycle rider who is suspected to be the suicide bomber collided his bike to the vehicle in the convoy. However they said the precise details of the incident will be determined after the investigation.
The injured and the dead bodies are rushed to the Civil Hospital Sibbi. Meanwhile, the security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to apprehend any suspects involved in the attack.
The Balochistan province has witnessed a surge in violence in recent years, with separatists and Islamists militant groups, carrying out attacks on security forces and civilians.
Balochistan Constabulary is also a wing of Balochistan Police who is responsible for ensuring security at the sensitive events and locations.
