Islamabad, 24 February 2023 (GNP): Earthquake tremors of 4.2 intensity jolted Islamabad and its adjoining areas on Friday.
According to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre (NSMC), the tremors were felt at 6:06 in the morning.

Reciting the Kalma-e-Tayyaba, people fled from their homes in terror. According to initial reports, there had been no loss. It should be noted that earthquakes that are comparatively closer to the surface are likely to have negative long-term consequences on buildings.

Karachi was shaken by an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.1 last December.
The seismic specialists were astonished by an earthquake of this size in Karachi since they had never before noted an earthquake of this power with an epicenter in the capital of the province.
According to Pakistan Meteorological Division’s (PMD) Director of Seismology, the epicenters of previous earthquakes of a magnitude of slightly over 3.1 that struck Karachi were located outside the province’s capital.
However, the epicenter of this earthquake was located near DHA, 15 kilometers to the north of Karachi.
