Empowering hope and trust for women worldwide

Islamabad (GNP)-  Rwanda High Commissioner in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Harerimana Fatou, says Every year on March 8, the world celebrates International Women’s Day (IWD). This occasion provides an important opportunity to reflect on the role of women in national development and to promote initiatives aimed at enhancing women’s empowerment and advancing gender equality.

This year, the global theme for International Women’s Day is “Rights, Justice, Action, for all Women and Girls.” This theme calls upon everyone to actively promote women’s and girls’ rights, justice, and transformative actions that enhance their empowerment.

I would like to emphasize that an empowered woman is a cornerstone of a resilient and sustainable nation.

As Rwanda High Commissioner in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, I would like to congratulate the country’s achievements in promoting gender and encouraging fellow women to work hard for further development. Rwanda and Pakistan have recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding on gender equality, which will further strengthen the relationship between our two countries.

Rwanda is proud to be a global leader in gender equality, particularly in parliamentary representation. As I believe in the saying that behind every strong man there is always stronger woman that helps him promote the family, the country and the entire world.

Despite these gains, challenges remain in observing today the insecurity in the entire sphere of the world which continue to affect women and children in different corners such as death, mass displacement, sexual violence etc.

Addressing these challenges requires strong collaboration and partnership between the community, countries and entire the World.

As women we need to work hard, fighting against any violence, promote gender in different area and supporting each other to achieve our goals.

Let together raise our voices to the world and request our Rights, Justice, Action, for all Women and Girls.
