Karachi : Formal opening ceremony of the Naya Nazimabad Ramadhan National Tennis Championship was held on 17th February 2026 at the Naya Nazimabad Gymkhana, Karachi.
Samad Arif Habib, CEO of Javedan Corporation Limited and a representative of Arif Habib Group, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Among the distinguished guests present were Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, President of the Pakistan Tennis Federation; Syed Muhammad Talha, President Naya Nazimabad Gymkhana; Altaf Hussain; Aqeel Khan; Asgher Baloch (Boxing); Muhammad Taqi (Fencing); Abdul Hameed (Karate); Noumanuddin (SSU); along with a large number of participating players from across the country.
Muhammad Khalid Rehmani, Vice President of the Pakistan Tennis Federation, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Samad Arif Habib and Arif Habib for their generous sponsorship and continued support for the development of tennis in Pakistan. He also extended special thanks to the management of Naya Nazimabad Gymkhana, particularly Syed Muhammad Talha, Altaf Hussain, and Muhammad Asif, for their exceptional hospitality and outstanding arrangements.
Samad Arif Habib reaffirmed his organization’s commitment to the promotion and development of tennis in Pakistan. He stated that efforts would be made to elevate the sport to new heights by inviting foreign players and coaches for future events. He further pledged to personally engage leading corporate sector organizations to enhance sponsorship support for tennis nationwide.
Speaking on the occasion, Syed Muhammad Talha highlighted that the prize money for the Naya Nazimabad Ramadhan National Tennis Championship is the highest ever in the history of tennis in Pakistan. He assured that Naya Nazimabad would provide the best possible hospitality to all participants throughout the championship week. He also expressed satisfaction that the country’s top-ranked players are participating in this prestigious event.
